Instar Learning Alliance is an educational non-profit established in 2014, which grew out of the collective experiences of three women—women who felt a need to become actively involved in finding a way to make a positive difference in the lives of senior citizens.
Instar is a term applied to a developmental stage of an insect or an individual. Somewhere between infancy and that nebulous state of self-actualization, we are all instars waiting to become all we can be. As parents and educators, we watch the unfolding of the special people in our lives and in our classrooms. Sometimes we forget that we molt many times in our lifetimes. We reach one goal and reach out for the next, bringing us closer and closer to what we always wanted to achieve.
Learning reflects what we do. We offer interactive workshops in creative problem solving (CPS) and a variety of academic sessions that positively affect senior citizens. Today’s seniors face a world of immense challenges; therefore, we strive to foster their ability to solve problems while encouraging optimism and instilling confidence.
Alliance is our collaborative coalition. It stands for the partnerships Instar builds with our program participants, senior centers and residences, as well as local organizations and educational institutions—all working together to address challenges affecting senior citizens in our communities.
Instar Learning Alliance currently serves senior citizens located in Montgomery County, PA.
